3. Applied mathematics Centerof Heilongjiang

The Applied mathematics Center of Heilongjiang is led by Harbin Institute of Technology, and jointly established by Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Engineering University. Based on the advantageous disciplines and industry characteristics of Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Engineering University, the center carries out high-level mathematical application research around the fields of major national needs, and participates in the joint construction of "Heilongjiang Provincial Applied Mathematics Center", which is an important measure in the process of promoting the construction of mathematical disciplines of our university, and an important part of the forward-looking strategy of science and technology revitalization of our provincial science and technology department. It is also an important work content for our province to persistently serve the national strategy. The center would adhere to the guidance of national demand, combine the advantages and characteristics of disciplines in universities, build a platform for university enterprise cooperation, achieve reasonable layout and optimization integration of research resources, promote the application and transformation of scientific research achievements, and contribute to the national economic construction.

In the past five years, more than 82 research projects with the funding contract amount exceeding ten million have been established in the Key Laboratory of Marine Science and Engineering Mathematics Technology Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Key Laboratory of Engineering Applied Mathematics of Heilongjiang Province. There are many papers have been published in top international mathematics journals such as CMP, Memoirs of AMS, Advances in Mathematics, ARMA, and JFA.

Papers

Our laboratories are actively establishing various platforms for domestic and international cooperation and exchange. Over the past five years, we have held a total of 34 academic conferences. We organize training programs in summers for young university scholars, inviting experts from abroad to deliver lectures. We have also hosted the International Symposium on the Latest Advances in Bio-mathematical Modeling, Analysis, and Applications for four consecutive years, as well as the International Academic Conference on Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and the Winter International Academic Symposium on Partial Differential Equations. Notably, we have extended special invitations to Fields Medal winners and internationally renowned experts to participate in our academic exchanges.
