On November 28th-29th, 2020, the Third Northeast Regional Biomathematics Symposium was hosted by the College of Mathematical Sciences at Harbin Engineering University. The conference was organized by the Northeast Alliance of Biomathematics and co-sponsored by the Biomathematics Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society, the National Tianyuan Mathematics Northeast Center, and Northeast Normal University.

The conference invited prominent experts, including Professor CHEN Lansun, Honorary Director of the Biomathematics Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society and researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor YU Jianshe, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and professor at Guangzhou University; Professor CUI Jingan, Director of the Biomathematics Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society and Dean of the College of Science at Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture; Professor JIN Zhen, Deputy Director of the Biomathematics Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society and Director of the Institute of Complex Systems at Shanxi University; Professor MA Wanbiao, Deputy Director of the Biomathematics Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society and professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Science and Technology Beijing; Professor ZHANG Weinian, Dean of the School of Mathematics at Sichuan University; Professor LIN Wei, Director of the Laboratory of Fundamental Theory and Key Technologies of Intelligent Complex Systems at Fudan University and professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Fudan University; and Professor TANG Sanyi, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Information Science at Shaanxi Normal University, among other renowned professors in the field of biomathematics.

A total of 26 academic reports were presented during the conference, and experts engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics in biomathematics, differential equations, and dynamical systems. Over 300 faculty and students from universities and research institutes nationwide attended the event. The participants not only gained insights into the latest academic issues but also found inspiration for their own research from the rich academic presentations.
