On August 26th, the School of Mathematics held the first class of 2023 graduate students and a lecture on new student enrollment education. The dean of the school, Fan Zhaobing, the director of the Academic Affairs Office, Zhou Mingye, and all 2023 graduate students participated, and the director of the Academic Affairs Office, Liu Dongping, presided over the event.
Firstly, Fan Zhaobing gave the first lesson for graduate freshmen titled "Gathering Wisdom to Lead the Future". He warmly welcomed the 2023 graduate students on behalf of the college, and introduced the college's historical evolution, talent cultivation, scientific research, international cooperation, and disciplinary development. Based on personal learning and work experience, he proposed five suggestions for graduate students: first, make career plans early and think about future development; Secondly, make a good academic plan and lay a solid foundation for scientific research; Thirdly, strengthen scientific research training and improve scientific research level; Fourthly, pay attention to academic integrity and establish academic reputation; Fifth, cultivate good habits and innovative abilities.
