On September 17th, the College of Mathematical Sciences invited Professor Liqun Qi from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University give a talk to nearly 200 people, including all 2023 graduate students, some undergraduate and doctoral students, and teachers of the college. The activity was hosted by Professor Changjiang Bu, the leader of the graph theory research group.
Liqun Qi is an emeritus professor of applied mathematics at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a distinguished professor at Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology, and a foreign academician at the Petrovskaya Institute of Science and Art in Russia.
Professor Qi introduced dual quaternions and explained their applications in fields such as physics, computer graphics, and robotics. Finally, Liqun Qi had in-depth communication and discussion with the teachers and students present, and patiently answered the questions raised by the teachers and students.
This talk has received unanimous praise from the teachers and students of the College of Mathematical Sciences, deepening the understanding and cognition of students in the subject of mathematics, and stimulating their enthusiasm for mathematical research.
