On July 16th, the 10th Annual Academic Conference of the Biomathematics Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society, hosted by the Biomathematics Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) and organized by Harbin Engineering University, opened at the Harbin Huarong Hotel. The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Yanni Xiao, Chairperson of the Committee from Xi'an Jiaotong University; Professor Yihong Du, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science from the University of New England; Professor Zhiwen Yu, Vice Chancellor of Harbin Engineering University; Professor Zhaobing Fan, Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences at Harbin Engineering University; and other distinguished guests. Over 500 experts and scholars from 163 institutions, including Xi'an Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Beijing Normal University, Renmin University of China, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Sun Yat-sen University, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, participated in the opening ceremony. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Ling Xue, Chairperson of the Conference Organizing Committee and Professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Harbin Engineering University.

In her speech, Chairperson Yanni Xiao warmly congratulated the successful convening of the conference and expressed her sincere gratitude to the host institution for its high level of attention and meticulous organization. She encouraged the participants to make full use of this platform to enhance communication, deepen cooperation, and explore cutting-edge issues in biomathematics, contributing collectively to the development of biomathematics in China. She also extended her expectations and requirements to the young scholars, doctoral candidates, and graduate students present at the conference.

On behalf of the conference organizer, Vice Chancellor Zhiwen Yu  delivered a welcome speech, introducing the history and achievements of Harbin Engineering University, particularly the significant accomplishments in the field of mathematics. He also wished the conference a great success.

During the opening ceremony, Professor Shengqiang Liu , Vice Chairperson and Secretary General of the Committee fromTiangong University, announced the list of winners of the Excellent Paper Award from the Doctoral Student Forum of the 10th Annual Academic Conference. Chairperson Yanni Xiao and Vice Chancellor Zhiwen Yu presented the awards to the winners.

The conference lasted for three days, during which eight experts, including Professor Yihong Du, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science from the University of New England, delivered keynote speeches. A total of 112 experts and scholars presented their research in eight thematic sessions, including Modeling and Methods for Infectious Disease Systems, Complex Network System Modeling and Analysis, Non-smooth Biological Dynamical Systems, Biomedical and Computational Systems Biology, Stochastic Biological Dynamical Systems, Partial Differential Equation Methods in Biological Systems, Mathematical Ecology, and Stability and Bifurcation of Biological Systems. For the first time, a Doctoral Student Forum was held at the conference, where doctoral students from universities across the country reported their latest research findings. The conference featured a wide range of topics, covering fundamental and cutting-edge issues in various fields of biomathematics. The event not only provided an efficient academic exchange platform for scholars engaged in biomathematics and related research fields but also offered an excellent opportunity for academic exchange, friendship enhancement, and cooperation for the attendees. Additionally, it provided young scholars and graduate students with valuable opportunities to learn about cutting-edge knowledge and showcase their research achievements.
