On January 13, 2026, the School held its 2025 Summary and Commendation Conference in the Academic Lecture Hall of the Qihang Activity Center. Jingwei Yin, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and President, attended the conference and delivered a speech. President Jingwei Yin fully affirmed the achievements made by the School in recent years and put forward three requirements for promoting its high-quality development. First, it is essential to focus on the core mission of teaching. All faculty members should refine the teaching of general mathematics courses, effectively deliver a sound "first lesson" in mathematics, and help students consolidate their mathematical foundation. Second, interdisciplinary integration should be strengthened. The School must actively promote in-depth integration between mathematics and the university’s distinctive and leading disciplines, strive to develop mathematics disciplines with a focus on marine and shipbuilding applications, and provide a solid mathematical foundation for accelerating the construction of a world-class university with distinctive characteristics.Third, faculty and staff development must be effectively implemented. The School should steadily and orderly advance the fifth round of employment assessment, and make overall plans for the sixth round of position appointments, so as to pool talent resources for its high-quality development.

Zhaobing Fan, Dean of the School, comprehensively summarized the achievements of the School in 2025, and commended the faculty, students and staff who had made outstanding contributions to discipline construction, scientific research, student development, international cooperation and other fields.

The conference further unified thinking, built consensus, and inspired all teachers and students of the School to devote themselves to the development of the School with higher morale. All faculty members expressed that they would live up to expectations, forge ahead bravely on the journey of mathematics discipline construction, and contribute a more solid mathematical force to accelerating the construction of a world-class university with distinctive characteristics!
